BSNL, a public telecommunications company, and Swedish telecommunications manufacturer Ericsson signed a memorandum of understanding on 5G and the Internet of Things.
The two will create a common roadmap for the development of 5G and IoT in India, said a joint statement to the media. This new partnership with BSNL and Ericsson develops "5G use cases, sharing knowledge about 5G technology concepts, industry trends and innovation, including progress in 3GPP standardization."
With this MoU, BSNL will use the Ericsson 5G Center of Excellence at IIT Delhi to evaluate the benefits of 5G in areas such as rural connectivity, connected health, industrial automation, public safety, video surveillance, energy and agriculture.
